There’s an autumnal chill in the air today, so it’s a perfect time to bring out those lightweight jackets. You are spoilt for choice this season, with Frankie Shop inspired quilted jackets everywhere you turn. I am always grateful when the high street produces pieces inspired by the designer trend setters, not just because of the price tag, but often I find the original doesn’t quite work for my frame. The Frankie Shop quilted jacket is a perfect example of this. I needed something a little more fitted, less Michelin man. At 5’4, with a small frame, I have to be really careful with proportions… anything too big and billowy on top is just comedy, not cool!
I am so happy with my M&S version for £55, I really love the colour and the shape works well. When it comes to splurging on items of clothing, I try to avoid buying trend led pieces and I feel like this might be a trend that comes and goes too quickly. The Mango version for £49.99 is also really lovely.

Shop Quilted Jackets
Thought I would share a few more little finds from this week. If you’re looking to fill a khaki shacket hole in your wardrobe, have a look at this one. I have ordered this jumpsuit and these boots. I will let you know what they’re like when they arrive. I have included a few dressier pieces this week for those who have occasions coming up. Couldn’t resist the tulle dresses the sequin jumpsuit!
