Spring/Summer Edit with Free People

*This post was written in collaboration with Free People – AD*

I am thrilled to be working with Free People UK this month, and they have asked me to share my new season favourites with you. As most of you know, I don’t wear dresses in the Winter, so come the Spring, I cannot wait to get my pretty dress fix and release my inner boho.

Free People have the most beautiful selection of dresses and I have to say I was rather spoilt for choice when making my selections.  Who remembers the LOVE OF MY LIFE MIDI DRESS from last year? Well it’s back in lots of beautiful colours.

This FEELING GROOVY MAXI DRESS won me over with it’s beautiful print and neckline. It feels so lovely on, and comes with a nude slip underneath. You could easily winterise it with a belt and tan boots and wear it now, but I will be saving mine for warmer days so that I can pair with my tan sandals. On me, I felt it would benefit from a nice vintage, leather waist belt to emphasize my waist, something I have been trawling the pre-loved sites for recently. I am yet to find the ‘one’ but I will keep looking. This dress comes in lots of different colours and I have chosen the “ivory combo’ colourway.

This Ain’t She A Beaut Midi Dress is the most beautiful shade of green and I adore the pleated bodice with the puff sleeve. It’s quite long on me so I would probably take it up a couple of inches so that it hits my shin (I am 5’4 for height reference) It also has a really beautiful back AND POCKETS! It comes in six different colours, including black and ivory for anyone that shies away from colour. Both would be wonderfully timeless dresses to have.

This beautiful Dahlia Embroidered Maxi Dress comes in four beautiful colours. It has the most beautiful embroidered flowers and a shirred bodice. AND POCKETS!

SHOP DRESSES

For those chilly Spring days…

When it comes to cashmere, you’d find it hard to find anything softer than Free People cashmere. This SCHOOLBOY CASHMERE CARDI is really lightweight and an absolute dream to wear. Perfect for layering over camis, t-shirts and dresses in the Spring/Summer. It gives a lovely slouchy silhouette and comes in a variety of beautiful muted colours. I am wearing Champagne in a size XS.

The Dolman Jacket

I fell in love with this DOLMAN JACKET in the new Free People store in Notting Hill back in November. I think it was the last time I set foot in a shop. I tried it on in the charcoal colour, and loved it, but as I seem to be having a love affair with all things pink this year, this had to be the one. It’s the perfect Spring jacket for throwing on over jeans and a tee for the school run or a quick trip to the Supermarket.

And finally, I wanted to share a few of my favourite tops with you. I chose this beautiful MOONBATH TOP which also comes in black and cream. It has a beautiful shape and would look fabulous worn loose over shorts in the summer. I have tucked the front in to emphasise the waist as I have paired it with a wide leg denim.

As always, I hope you enjoyed seeing my choices and thank you so much for reading.

Hi.Chloe. Can you tell me what size you are wearing in the Dolman jacket? Should you size up for an oversized look? Thanks.

Hi Valerie- I am wearing an XS. I would say it’s fairly true to size as it’s quite an oversized style, so you should be ok with your normal size xx
