I seem to be all about the rituals these days. Since I finished painting the snug (the room we watch TV) it has become a room that draws everyone in. Perhaps we should rename it the drawing room?! It’s amazing to think that changing the colour of walls can have such an impact in terms of energy in a room. Admittedly it has always been a room that comes in to it’s own in the winter, but I do think that the wall colour has made a huge difference to the overall feel of the room. (In case you missed it, it went from charcoal to white to green. I used Farrow and Ball, Castle Grey) Every night, I like to light all the candles, and making our coffee table come to life.
I will always light a scented candle (my favourite selection is here, in case you missed it) but I love to burn a selection of candles, with different heights. I mix long candles with little (inexpensive) tea lights in pretty crackled glass votives or empty Jo Malone or Diptique candles (I never throw them away) In December, I’ll add some pine cones to the table to give it a festive feel. Quite a few of you wanted to know where my coffee table and trays were from, so I have included a selection here for you, along with our coffee table, which is currently discounted for Black Friday. I hope this selection might provide a little inspiration for sprucing up your coffee table. It really does bring a lot of joy while you are watching TV.
