I took a look at my recent order list on Amazon the other day. In fact I thought about printing it out for safe keeping as an amusing record of our life during lockdown. Who knows, it may even be the sort of thing they include in history books one day. (I like to think that books will still be around when I am old and grey!) Amazon Prime has been an absolute saviour for us over the past 9 weeks. With orders ranging from bird seed, a garden parasol, elastic for face masks to 800 grams of bleach powder! I won’t bore you with the entire list but it does paint an interesting portrait of lockdown life.
For this month’s selection from Amazon Fashion, I have found some gorgeous pieces to wear this summer, whether you’re at home or out and about once normal life resumes.
This striped jumpsuit from Amazon brand Daily Ritual (£38) is probably the most comfortable item of clothing I own at the moment. It’s made from a super soft terry type fabric which feels so lovely against the skin. Perfect for the cool summer evenings at home. I ordered an XS/S and it fits me really well. It’s also a really good length on me (I am 5’4) and the belt that ties around the waist would neatly hide any newly acquired lockdown tums. If you are a little nervous about wearing white items of clothing, it also comes in a navy stripe and some other block colours. I am wearing it with these white Birkenstocks. The dial on the comfort scale goes straight to maximum in this outfit.
This dress from Amazon Brand Find (£33.33) reminded me so much of a Doen dress I was coveting last year, but at a fraction of the cost. I love the shirred bit around the bodice and the little puff sleeve as you can comfortably wear a bra without the risk of peeping straps. It is made from a light 100% cotton, and feels very light on. I am wearing a size 8.
This lovely dress from Dorothy Perkins at Amazon (£30) has unfortunately sold out since I put it on my stories yesterday. I will include the link here in case it comes back into stock.
It looks really good paired with these Castaner Espadrilles. They are so comfortable and I love the two tone look of these.
I have put together a couple of style sheets with some great Amazon buys.
Right, it’s time for an ice cold cider and a game of Scrabble in the sunshine. Oh and before I go, I wanted to share a new SPF with you all that I have just bought after seeing it recommended by a few trusted beauty bloggers recently. Heliocare Gelcream Colour Light SPF 50– My favourite Elta MD 46 was proving really tricky to find, so I wanted to find an alternative. I will let you know how I get on with it.
Thanks for reading.
