Quiet moments in isolation

I don’t know about you, but the last few weeks have taken their toll on my skin. My worry lines seem deeper and overall my skin feels drier and a little more spot prone than usual. I suppose it’s hardly surprising, given the circumstances. We are all spending a lot more time inside our homes with central heating, and the stress and worry and sleepless nights will naturally have an impact on our skin.

But, there are also some benefits of this time spent at home. We are likely to have more time for self-care and pampering than usual and although I am spending less time doing my hair and make-up, I have found more time for things like facial massage and I have been enjoying some minimal make-up days. (I don’t go as far as make-up free as the family would spend the day asking if I am feeling ok! ) Another bonus is that our skin will be exposed to far less pollution than usual, particularly if you are a city dweller like me.

Now is a really good time to get to know your skin, and perhaps since few of us will be spending money on our wardrobes during this time, it might be a good time to invest in skincare for you or someone you know who could do with a lift.

Elemis are offering my followers 20% off with the Code CHLOE20 until the 30th April 2020.*

*Please note that this offer does not include the ULTRA SMART Pro-Collagen range, collections & gift sets, travel sizes, cleansing cloths or gift cards and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.*

With that in mind I thought I would share a few of my favourite products with you.

1. Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm – £44 for 105 g (£32 with CHLOE20)

This has to be one of my favourite cleansers. I have always favoured a cleansing balm over cleansing creams, oils, milks and foaming formulas, and this original fragrance is definitely my favourite. It’s a powerful cleanser that melts away my makeup and dissolves daily grime. After thoroughly massaging the balm into my skin, I always wash off using a fresh face cloth and my skin is left feeling fresh and thoroughly cleansed.

2. The new Pro-Collagen Eye Revive Mask – £55 (£44 with CHLOE20)

This new 3-in-1 cloud-light gel formula can be used as an overnight anti-ageing mask, a hydrating eye primer and a moisturising rescue balm to smooth and rejuvenate the delicate skin around the eyes during the day. It is formulated with next generation Flash Filler Hyaluronic Acid, wrinkle-reducing Watermelon Snow Algae and antioxidant-rich Bush Clover to deeply hydrate and reduce the visible effects of tension and strain around the eye contour. It can be used over makeup throughout the day to refresh and help minimise the visible effects of tension and strain around the eyes. I find that a little goes a long way with this mask.

3. Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30 – £87 for 50ml (£69.60 with CHLOE20)

This is one of my all time favourite products from Elemis and it’s no surprise that it is one of their best sellers and has won over 35 awards. It reliably delivers everything I ask for in my day cream. It’s hydrating but not heavy on the skin, and feels very nourishing on my dry areas. My make-up sits really well on top of it and I love the fact that it contains an SPF of 30 as I am not using a stand alone SPF at the moment.

If you would like to try the Marine Cream before investing in a big pot, Elemis are currently offering this sample size for just £8 (instead of the usual £26)

Elemis Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Duo – £8

4. Pro-Collagen Rose Facial Oil – £67 (£53.60 with CHLOE20)

I use a facial oil every night as the final step of my skincare regime (along with a massage using my gua-sha stone) I have tried so many different facial oils over the years, and have found that some of them can feel a little heavy and oily on the skin. This soothing facial oil, formulated with organic English Rose Oleo extract, Rosehip Seed oil, Roaring Water Kelp and Padina Pavonica, is ultra-lightweight and I think it would be suitable for sensitive skin.

This is an anxiety inducing time for all of us, so make sure you carve out some time for yourself. Whether that’s running a bubble bath for a long soak and giving yourself a pampering session; spending ten minutes of your day meditating or simply taking some time out to take long deep breaths ; curling up with a good book ; moving your body with pilates or yoga ; taking a long walk with the dog or simply connecting with a friend via Facetime or House Party… this is a time to do whatever soothes your soul. Take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.

Love,

Chloe x
