Faux vs Real Leather Leggings

A few years ago I saved up for a pair of leather leggings. They were a big investment, and I really loved wearing them, but then I discovered the Commando faux leather leggings and I must confess that I haven’t worn them since. You see my real leather leggings weren’t a perfect fit. They were prone to bagging at the knees and a little on my (increasingly non-existent!) bum, and I was reluctant to wash them too often for fear of weakening the stitching. Taking them to a specialist leather dry cleaners was an expensive and time consuming exercise, so I ended up doing that thing you do with an item of clothing that you know you need to wear because it cost you so much… you’re guilted into putting them on, but you end up taking them off because they’re just not right.

Then I found these Commando faux leather leggings on Netaporter last year and they are perfect. They look like leather, feel like leather, they don’t bag at the knees, they are high waisted so they hold you in across your tummy, don’t bag on the bum AND they’re warm and comfortable. I love them so much I am thinking of buying myself a pair in oxblood or navy blue. The pair I have linked to are from Amazon, but are exactly the same as the ones I bought from Netaporter, just £30 less!

Sizing info –

I wear a size small and they are a good fit, so I would say a small is more like an XS. (I am a size UK 6)

Boots – Air and Grace, Sunglasses Celine.

If you are looking for a pair of wipe clean, leather look leggings I really can’t recommend these enough. I know you can find faux leather leggings in every high street retailer for significantly less, but I don’t think they’ll compare. These, my friends, are the holy grail of ‘leather’ look leggings.

Love,
