My new vintage look kaftan

I was after a vintage looking cotton kaftan to take to Bali and had found several beautiful pieces on independent and designer websites, but they all came with a hefty price tag. Having been lucky enough to visit India a couple of times, I knew that I was paying over the odds, so I decided to have a look on Etsy to see if I could find something and buy direct from an Indian supplier. Bingo! I found this beautiful hand block printed cotton kaftan from a seller called Nahata.

It’s made from a very light soft cotton and I imagine it will get better with every wash. I bought it to wear over my bikini in Bali, but you could easily pop a nude slip underneath and wear it as a dress in the summer. I thought it was such a good price (£33) and mine took exactly 16 days to arrive. Not bad! I thought it best not to wait until Bali to show you because I imagine that many of you will be on your summer holidays by then and there may still be time to get your order in before you go!

My dress arrived with a little booklet of fabric swatches so I am sure that you would be able to order in a different fabric if you wanted to. I ordered an XS and as you can see it’s roomy. Perfect for floating about in really hot weather!

Be sure to look out for an amazing GIVEAWAY I am doing tomorrow on my instagram feed with two of my favourite brands, Raefeather and Tilly Sveaas. There will be an opportunity to win the iconic T-bar necklace I am wearing above.

Thank you very much for this, you look so lovely and I am going to order straight away (a purple-ish one, or a pink, or maybe a blue …).
May I ask about the sizing – what did you go for?
    Very best wishes to you,
    Annie
