Hello! How are you? Apart from my wrist, I am really well. In a funny kind of way this tendonitis has forced me to slow down and the digital time has been replaced with turning pages of a book, sorting out things around the house and LOTs of gardening. I’ve felt a sense of calm that I haven’t felt for months. It has made me realise that the amount of time I was spending on my phone wasn’t healthy, for my mind or my body and it has really made me focus on ways that I can improve things going forward.
One area that needs a little thought is replying to my daily DMs. It’s a tricky one, because this has been one of my favourite things about Instagram. I love the interaction and the connections that I have with so many people via DM, but getting back to everyone has become a little unmanageable. Knowing there are messages from people that I haven’t replied to makes me feel uneasy and anxious, and I hate the thought that I might seem unapproachable, so I thought I would introduce one day a week where I have a Q&A session and hopefully I will be able to answer lots of questions then.
Something else I am keen to do is to try and free up time for blogging. Producing content for stories and instagram can dominate and often there is little time (or energy!) left for the blog. But I love my little space on the internet and I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
I thought I would style a few pieces that I have bought recently. Please note that I have used some affiliate links and I have also included a few pieces that I selected from QVC as part of my paid partnership with them, so I will label these pieces as *AD.
This is such a classic outfit for me in Summer. I love a red floral skirt teamed with a plain white tee and denim. I have a short red skirt from Topshop a few years ago, but it’s not quite warm enough to bare our legs yet, so I thought this longer version would be great buy. I was asked about plain white t-shirts this week, so I had a little look and found this one from M&S which ticks all the boxes. The gold hoops I have been wearing constantly are from QVC and are 9 carat. They are the perfect size for me, not too big or small for every day wear.
These sunglasses from Pilgrim are the ones that I have been wearing in my stories recently. They are a really lovely shape and weight and really comfortable to wear. Every time I wear them l get lots of messages asking me where they are from and I am pleased to be able to say that they are not ridiculously expensive! I have this black dress, and have worn it a few times recently but haven’t managed to photograph it yet. It’s a really easy dress (once you have buttoned up all those little loop buttons!) to wear and has a lovely shape. I found it came up quite big so I ordered a size 4. The black Loupe slides from Dune are firm favourites and are currently 20% off. I know they seem quite pricey for a pair of sandals but they are really well made and very comfortable.
Two items that I wouldn’t be without in the summer – a round bamboo basket bag and a pair of classic brown leather sandals. Believe me, both items will go with most of your summer wardrobe.
I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Thank you for reading and back soon!
Ooh lovely! I have the earrings on order and just ordered those sunnies as they are indeed a lovely shape 😎
