Some of you will know that the past couple of weeks haven’t been great. I can’t elaborate on the extent of what’s been going on, but it has felt like I’ve been living a game of ‘thwack- a- mole’. Okay, perhaps not the best analogy since the word ‘game’ implies an element of fun…nope, not even a trace of that. I am trying hard to get back to some semblance of normal, but I have had to accept that how I run my account and how much I share, has to change. So please bear with me while I try to find that balance.
I thought I would use Valentine’s Day as a good opportunity to encourage you all to practise some self-love. Let’s park romance for a bit and think about treating ourselves to a little something this week, because if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that we all deserve it!
We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s day, because our wedding anniversary falls on the 18th and we try to mark it with a special dinner (sometimes out, increasingly, at home!) This year we will celebrate 20 years of being a couple, 14 of them as Mr and Mrs. I have just googled 14 years of marriage – traditional anniversary gifts are ivory or elephant (no thanks!) and modern is gold. We’ve agreed no gifts, but in the extremely unlikely event that my husband reads my blog, Nick, I’d like this bracelet please! I am trying to build up a collection of solid gold pieces, that I will be able to pass down to the girls one day, as I’ve found that all my gold plated pieces have tarnished over time. I got this beautiful ring from Rachel Balfour at Christmas, which I have had engraved with ‘LMC’ , the children’s initials. It hasn’t left my finger and I love being able to bath and shower with it on.

Naturally I’ve included a few things on my current wishlist – the pearl clips from Anthropologie and the red J’adore t-shirt from Topshop. Must remember to nab them before they sell out!
Hopefully this might give you a little inspiration and a few ideas of ways to treat yourself this week. In case you missed my stories on the weekend, Stripe and Stare have produced some gorgeous heart pyjamas in modal. They are 100% sustainable – modal uses 95% less water in production than cotton and it is such a lovely fabric to sleep in. Stripe and Stare also make the best knickers! *In the interest of transparency, Stripe and Stare sent the pyjamas to me, but with no obligation to post about them and these are not affiliate links*
I hope you all have a really good week, and if you celebrate, a very happy Valentine’s Day.
Much love,
Chloe x
We don’t do Valentine’s Day here either, it’s a fairly new thing in Denmark, but let’s face it the best presents are the ones that come out of the blue (like the mug my husband bought for me with “little My” from moomins as he says I remind him of her). And I object to paying more for flowers and meals out, just because it’s that day!
I may wear red on the day though, just because I can!
Hope you have a great wedding anniversary, you deserve it!
