We are off to spend a few days in Bournemouth today, to celebrate my birthday (41 tomorrow, gulp!) and spend some time with my brother and his family. My mum heads back to South Africa next month, so a little trip away with both of her children and her grandchildren will be a much deserved treat. I can’t actually bear to think about her going home. Life will be very different and I fear a little more challenging than it has been for the past 6 months. My mum is an absolute rock for me, both emotionally and in terms of back up child (and kitty) care, so she will be sorely missed and I might need to scale back my work commitments when she goes. Anyway, I am not going to think about that for the next few days and plan on soaking up every minute of this special family trip.
Thank you so much to everyone that sent through recommendations for things to do in and around Bournemouth. I thought I would share them on here in case anyone else is interested.
There’s a lot to do and we probably won’t manage all of it, but I thought that I would do a follow up blog post with the things we did do once we are back. We have rented an Airbnb cottage on the beach, so I will also share those details with you once we are back home.
