Walking along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice wearing my new boots
I am back home after an amazing couple of days in Nice with the Sky Atlantic. I won’t go into too much detail about the trip because I covered most of it over on stories and I think those that were interested would have tuned in, so probably best not to repeat it all here. But the highlights included rooftop drinks with some of the cast and the most incredible view of Nice, lunch at the Hotel Belles Rives and a tour of a key new location for Season 2, Villa Eilenroc. Quite a few ‘pinch me’ moments and I came back feeling incredibly fortunate and extremely grateful for the invitation. The production team were brilliant, and didn’t give any plot details away, but having seen the incredible locations I cannot wait for the release of Series 2. (roughly May/June next year) Here is the trailer in case you want to watch.
Dimitri Leonadis ( I may have felt a little star struck in this moment!)
Having come VERY close to throwing caution to the wind and buying a pair of Chanel slingbacks that I have been coveting for a long time, I decided that as I couldn’t get the Duty Free discount (a saving of £110!) because I was flying within the EU, I should stick to browsing in the more affordable shops with the ‘airport prices’. I tried on a few pair of biker boots in Kurt Geiger, but then I spotted these Carvela boots and it was love at first sight. Then I put them on and we swiftly raced to the let’s-move- in-and- live together’ phase of the relationship. They are a little Zadig and Voltaire meets Anine Bing… I wore them to stroll around Nice on the first day, and it was like I had been wearing them for years in comfort terms. Before I bought them, I thought about my Chloe Susannas, and questioned whether I needed another pair of boots, but my Chloes are very low cut on the leg and I wanted a pair that would sit a little higher on my ankle in winter when it’s too cold for bare ankles.
We were a little delayed flying home yesterday evening, so I killed the time with some online browsing and thought I would share the pieces that excited me.
Perfect for wearing with blue jeans and a cream knit.
2. Blue Corduroy Skirt – Zara £25.99
I absolutely love this little skirt. Not only does the colour go perfectly with all the earthy hues of autumn, but I love the texture of corduroy and it’s a key fabric this season with the seventies revival, one of my favourite decades for fashion. It also won’t break the bank at that price.
3. Cable Knit – & Other Stories – £79
This alpaca blend jumper is the colour and style. I love a cable knit and I think this would work hard in my wardrobe this AW.
4. Face Earrings – & Other Stories £23
I love these earrings. Perfect for sprucing up a silk blouse and jeans for a night out. They also won’t break the bank.
5. J Crew Cardigan – £150 – 15% with code FASHIONFIX15
I saw someone wearing this cardigan this week and had to walk up to them and ask where it was from. I was expecting them to say it was from an unaffordable designer, and was pleasantly surprised to hear it was J Crew and currently had 15% off. Needless to say I have ordered it to try as my (two) cardigans are looking a little tired and bobbly and I think this would be a timeless piece.
6. Cashmere Joggers – £79 from H&M
Even though you don’t see them on Instagram, I live in joggers in the winter. It’s all I wear at home. I have been looking for a grey pair and these look perfect. Cashmere joggers for under a hundred, yes please! (Just leave a pair for me, I can’t afford them this month!)
7. Fairisle Jumper – H&M £49.99
This is new in at H&M and I don’t think it will be around long. I’m slightly obsessed with fair isle knits, but I have just bought the Wyse version (sample sale bargain!) so I probably don’t need another.
I have this t-shirt and it’s really lovely and a great price. Plain t-shirts form the foundations of a capsule wardrobe and you won’t believe how useful they are for layering.
If you are looking for a classic, comfortable boot I cannot recommend these enough. They would work so well with skirts too.

Hi Chloe, I love your new boots and have been eyeing them up on the Kurt Geiger website! Seeing them on you has convinced me to finally order them, but I am between a size 5 and 6 and live in Madrid so can`t pop and try them on! Would you say they run true t size, or biggish/smallish? Any sizing advice would most welcome! Thank you!
Mine are a snug fit and I’m a true size 5 so I’d say get the 6 to be safe.. xxx
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply (and for the sizing advice)!
