I was very excited to have the opportunity to collaborate on a piece with Monshowroom Kids* this month. It made a lovely change to truly get behind the lens and it reminded me how much I love taking photos of other people. Photography is definitely one of my favourite aspects of blogging, but most of the time I am taking photos of myself in outfits using a tripod with my iphone to operate the camera, which makes it a slightly unnatural, mechanical process. After all, the most rewarding and creative part of photography is finding the perfect shot through a lens.
It was also a lovely opportunity to explore some new brands for Milla. She’s at that tricky stage where she’s not too keen on most of the childrenswear the high street has to offer, but is still very much in childrenswear in terms of size. She has always been petite and even though she will be turning 11 in a few months, she is still wearing clothes age 8-9. When she was a baby we struggled to find babygrows in the UK that would fit her. We used to stock up on Petit Bateau* when we visited her grandparents in France and have generally found that French brands are a much better fit for her frame.
Monshowroom* has a gorgeous selection of brands for children and we were spoilt for choice when it came to selecting a few pieces for her to feature. We did make the selection together because she has developed her own style and I wanted to be sure that they were pieces she would wear.
It comes in two colour-ways, white and blue, and she says the fabric and style of dress is very comfortable. It certainly had my stamp of approval, it’s just the kind of dress I would have chosen for her.
The other item she chose was a pair of denim shorts which I think are a summer staple for any young girl. Milla is usually somersaulting, or practising her back handsprings and pirouettes, so shorts are a very comfortable and practical option for her in the summer.
Here are a few of my other favourite pieces for girls from Monshowroom*.
