I fell in love with this dress from Free People during a recent ASOS rummage. It has a slight vintage, ‘Ossie Clark’ feel to it and the detail is amazing. It flatters in all the right places and I love the shirring on the sleeves and the waist. Unfortunately I don’t have a wedding or a christening to go to this Summer, as it feels like the perfect occasion dress, but I do have a few events coming up and think I will also be able to dress it down with flats when the weather warms up.
I have to be honest, it seemed a little steep at full price, but if I think about what I would expect to pay for it if it had a Whistles label, the discounted price of £95 seemed fair given the quality. Free People feels a bit like Topshop who, on the whole, tend to cater for waif like 20 somethings who can afford to flash the flesh. But I do think there are some real gems to be found if you look hard enough. So I thought I would share my finds with you.
This dress is so gorgeous it actually makes me want to move to a hot country. (That might also have something to do with the fact that it’s almost May and we have just put the heating on!) Pair with tan sandals, a wicker handbag and an aperol spritz! *It also comes in black and rosebud pink.*
Absolutely love this dress and it comes in so many gorgeous colours. Remember if you are ever worried about things being too low cut, you can always pop a vest or a swimsuit underneath.
When it comes to midi dresses , I love a dress with buttons that I can leave undone towards the bottom. (Don’t worry, I wouldn’t go as far as the model above!) At 5’4 I find having a little flash of leg can make all the difference.
Before I go, I thought I would share the two swimsuits that I bought this week, because it might be some time before I share them on instagram! I love them both, but I will only be keeping one and I am leaning towards the gingham one at the moment.
Well, that’s all for today. I hope you are having a good weekend despite our dreary weather!
Love,
