‘Always look on the pink side of life’

Most of you know that I love wearing pink. But almost all of the pink items I own are for the top half, so I have been looking to add a pair of pink trousers to my wardrobe. Even though I think it’s worth spending a bit more when it comes to tailored trousers, I have decided to try this pair from Mango, as I love the colour and they look like a good fit for my frame. I will let you know what they are like when they arrive. When I wear colour, I tend to keep the rest of my outfit fairly neutral with blue denim or black. I will be pairing my pink trousers with my new Hazzard boots from Topshop and a black cashmere knit. I have had my eye on a few pink pieces to add a bit more colour as we head towards Spring, so I thought I would share them with you.

  1. Pink Trousers Mango (£35.99) – These are new in at Mango and I thought they would be good for me as they are cropped. I also really love this shade of Pepto Bismol pink.
  2. Pink Floral Skirt ASOS (£35) – I was really drawn to the print on this ‘midaxi’ (Not heard this term before but I like the sound of it. Hoping the midaxi might be maxi on me!) and I love the button detail down the side. I’d pair with a plain black knit and boots in the winter months and a plain tee in the summer.
  3. Pink Floral Shirt Vila (£35.19) – I love this shirt. Great for those who love print – it has a Gucci feel to it and would look great worn open with blue denim.
  4. Pink Mules Topshop (£36) – I am soooo tempted by these mules, but I really need to reign in my purchases. I do think these would get loads of wear, I find this style of shoe so easy. Slip them on with your jeans and you feel just the right amount of ‘smart’ and the pointed toe is very leg lengthening for those that need it. I bought a yellow pair of mules from Zara last season and wore them so much. One to pop on the ‘maybe’ list I think…
  5. Pink Scalloped Cami Topshop (£16) This has already sold out in my size, which is a shame as I love it. I blogged about the black version last week and am hoping that hasn’t sold out too! Wear now over a black poloneck, or if that’s a bit too ‘fashion’ for you (it is me!) wear underneath a cardi or a blazer now and with denim in the summer.
  6. Pink Mohair and Wool Cardi &Otherstories (£89) – This is such a beautiful cardigan if you are a cardi lover. Perfect for the months that we are (hopefully) heading into when you can head out without your coat.
  7. Pink Honeycomb Knit &Otherstories (£49) – Putting this blog post together has been very dangerous for the bank balance. I absolutely love this knit as it looks really lightweight and I love the honeycomb texture. The shade of pink is also spot on!
  8. Phone Case &Otherstories (£8) – Love this Gucci inspired phone case. May have to order this as my phone case is looking a bit grubby!
  9. Sezane Cooper knit – (£89) – This is the most beautiful jumper. I am slightly gutted as it’s a bit big for me, and they have sold out of the XS. Perfect for those who want to do colour in a subtle way.
  10. Dusty Pink Suede Pumps (£79) – If I still worked in an office I would definitely be buying these. They are such a beautiful shade of pink and look like a really good heel height.
  11. (as above, got the numbering wrong, sorry!)
  12. Pale Pink Dungarees Topshop (£49) –  If you are a dungas fan, then these would be such a good buy.

Pink Trouser Inspiration (images via Pinterest)

Aside from the obvious neutrals (white, black and denim) there are a few colours that look really good with pink.

  • Yellow (surprising but true)
  • Khaki
  • Red (if you are bold with your colour choices you’ll already know these two colours look so good together)
  • Green
  • Burgundy (I would go for a paler shade of pink)
  • Grey (one of my favourite colour combinations)

One thing is for sure, whenever I wear pink, people always smile and comment and it really does lift my mood. Try it!

Great post Chloe, love a bit of pink in an outfit and you’re so good at styling it.
I can recommend the Stories Cardi, I bought it about a month ago and it’s a gorgeous colour and quality. Comes up very large, I bought an XS and is nice and slouchy xx

Love pink, not sure I’m brave enough for pink trousers though (I know from experience that I don’t wear colour on my bottom half), I have bought coloured/ patterned trousers in the past with the best of intentions. For some reason they don’t get very many outings.

I know what you mean. they are quite bold! Trouble is they are quite memorable aren’t they, so you feel like you can’t wear them too often..

  3. I am loving this post – especially the dungarees and the mules! I also purchased a pair of pink trousers but they are from Miss Selfridge and I adore them! x
