We took my Dad to one of my favourite spots for breakfast this morning, the Chiswick Fire Station. If you’re ever in W4 and haven’t been, it’s worth a little visit. I love the interiors and the food is pretty good too.
If we go out on a Sunday, I always like to make a little more effort with my outfit. It would have been so easy to slip on my jeans, trainers and a cashmere knit, but it feels like such an every day look for me, so today I wore my version of my ‘Sunday Best’. And I am so pleased I did, because it felt really good to smarten up. (Even if I did whip it all off as soon as we got home in favour of my comfies and slippers. Shhhhhh!)
I don’t usually blog about a specific outfit, but I wanted to tell you about my trousers, because trousers are an area that I really struggle with. So if and when, I find a pair that fit really well, feel good against the skin and don’t need the hem taken up for a bargainous £22, I feel they deserve a dedicated blog post!

My new Erdem x HM Blouse
They are the High Waisted Cigarette Trousers from the Petite section in Topshop. I have always been a fan of cigarette trousers so I am really glad to see them back in fashion. See the full range of Cigarette Trousers from Topshop here.
I initially put on my red suede heels and they looked great, but I suddenly thought we might go for a long stroll after breakfast so I swapped the heels for my uber comfy Tabitha Simmons flats that I bought from Vestiaire Collective last year. They have definitely been one of my best pre-loved purchases. They arrived in excellent condition and I have worn them so much. Always worth keeping an eye on Vestiaire for classics like this. (See similar Tabitha Simmons flats here from Vestiaire Collective.)
I wore my new Erdem X HM blouse which I feel very lucky to have found in store. I would go as far as to say it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of clothing I own. I have been so impressed with the quality of his collection for H&M. Sometimes these collaborations can be a little disappointing and you feel like you’re paying over the odds because of their name. But given the quality of the pieces I bought, I can honestly say each of them was worth their price tag. I can’t wait to show you the leopard print coat…
My coat from Mango has to be my best buy of the season so far. Some of you wrote to tell me that you had bought it too after my recommendation so I hope that you’ve been as happy as I have with it. My dad even commented on it today – he loves a good piece of tailoring and thought it had to be designer!
I was lucky enough to be sent a beautiful personalised fedora from Davina Mulford. I have never really been a hat person, partly because I struggled to find one to fit my head, but there was also always a part of me that felt a bit silly in them. But given that I am the proud owner of a beautiful fedora that was made to fit, I felt it would be a crime not to wear it out. So I did today and I think I could say that I am inching closer to calling myself a hat person. It hid my roots (which desperately need doing) AND kept my head really warm. And when people looked at me, I told myself that they were admiring the hat rather than thinking, ‘what does she look like in that hat!!’ 🙂 Anyway, I cannot recommend Davina’s beautiful hats enough if you ARE a hat person. She has very kindly set up a discount code for my followers which will give you 15% off anything on her site. Just use CHLOELOVESTOSHOP at checkout…
I hope you’ve had a good Sunday. We successfully purchased two new loos. Not your average Sunday shop! But after 7 years our downstairs and en-suite loos are leaking and both have concealed cisterns. All well and good until things go wrong. So we have bought two ‘coupled WCs’. I have absolutely no idea why I am telling you this, but perhaps it might be useful to anyone who is re-doing bathrooms in the near future?!
Happy Shopping! (Whether it’s for clothes or loos…)
Love,
Chloe

I so know what you mean about trousers that fit! I find M&S short are too short, and Next petite haven’t had anything I ‘have’ to own for ages! Mostly I end up turning trousers up, but Boden has been doing okay the last few seasons.
Your blouse looks beautiful, as does your whole outfit, I hope you had a great day out with your family.
