This week has a been a bit of a whirlwind with Liv finishing junior school and Charlie finishing nursery, and when life gets a little full on, there is always one thing that suffers! My blog… I am sorry about that.
We fly to Greece on Thursday, so I am trying to be very organised with my packing this year. I have a jam packed week of work and three children at home, so there won’t be much time for packing and I don’t like doing it the night before, because I either forget something obvious like underwear, or I completely overpack. So, fresh from my packing yesterday, I thought I would write up a short blog post on some holiday pieces that I have found, in case you are in need of some inspiration.
You can’t beat a basket bag on holiday because it will go with all of your outfits. Keep your bags neutral and you can take ALL of your favourite new summer purchases, whether you stick to a colour palette or not. Personally I find tonal packing too tricky. I always want to take all my new summer bits, and that means a variety of different colours.
2. Raffia Clutch – Baal and Tanit
For the evenings, it’s nice to have a clutch and this one is the perfect size, because it will fit in your mozzie repellent, pack of cards, lippy and camera… I had a few messages yesterday about this clutch after I ‘storied’ my packing, so I thought I would include here for you. You get to design your colours…
3. Swimsuit – Boden
I have always been a bikini girl, but this year I am really feeling the one-piece… Boden swimsuits are always really excellent quality.
4. Black Beach Cover – Mango (sale)
I love having black items on holiday. Dress them up with statement earrings, hair in a bun and a black dress with a tan always looks chic. This dress has a lovely back and could work as a beach cover or a little dress for the evening. (Only size 8 and 10 left)
5. Hat – Mango (sale)
If I didn’t already own 2 hats that I am taking on holiday with me, I would be buying this. A great price at £12.99!
6. Summer Pyjamas (Next)
A lovely pair of cotton pyjamas is a holiday must- have. I can just imagine lazy mornings eating breakfast outside in these… I often forget to pack nice pyjamas and when you are staying in a villa with friends, they’re quite important! Another useful item to pack is a cotton or linen bathrobe. This one from H&M Home is lovely.
7. Kaftan – Mango sale
8. Hat – Mango sale
9. Swimsuit – Boden sale
10. Hammam Towel – Sand and Salt
We take a different colour hammam towel for each member of the family. This way, you avoid poolside squabbles.
11. Gold Leather Slides – New Look
Gold sandals go with everything. These look very comfy too..
12. Sunglasses – Mango
I get asked about these sunglasses a lot, so I thought I would include them here. I like to think of them as my Chloe dupes!
Happy Shopping, Happy Holidays…
Love,
Chloe x
As always a lovely read!
Yikes…my child somehow hit post. I also meant to say for someone who claims to struggle with tonal packing…your above post is admirably tonal! 🙂 Enjoy your holidays!
😉 Thanks for reading Aileen xx
Some great pieces Chloe. I need to follow your lead as I always pack too much and recently came from Tenerife with two cases of dirty washing and one full with clothes we didn’t wear oops x
😂 ive been there!! X
Do you love those towels? I’ve been looking to take the plunge and switch from traditional ones but they just look like they wouldn’t dry you.
We love them because they are so absorbent and dry soooo quickly. Also really light to carry and the sand doesn’t get trapped in the cotton loops that you have on towels xx
Needed another pair of shortie jammies and these fit the bill perfectly (so I’ve bought them, of course) Already have several hats, baskets, gold sandals, hammam towels and a gazillion dresses so it’s nice to know I’m in good company! Off on hols at the end of next week, so very timely – thank you x
