One of my favourite summer looks is a boho blouse with jeans/shorts or a denim skirt. Effortless, feminine and timeless.
The top I am wearing above was a Portobello charity shop find and is from the designer Haute Hippie (a favourite brand of two of my style crushes, Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively) This particular charity shop is my favourite spot to rummage as it’s where the rather ‘flush’ surrounding residents drop all of their unwanted goods!
As many of you will know I am a big fan of the high street, but I have purposefully avoided the obvious places to look like Mango, Zara, H&M and Topshop for this post, and tried to focus on tops that I believe will be good value for money, slightly more original and forever buys. I have also focussed my search on soft cottons and silks. They are so lovely and cool to wear in the summer and I do try and avoid anything polyester as it just makes me feel hot and uncomfortable, and holds odours. Grim but true!
This is 100% cotton and has a really beautiful print. Hush is great too, because they don’t overproduce and often sell out of things, which means that you won’t see too many people wearing the same top.
Talitha is a really beautiful brand but it’s pricey, so I always look at the Outnet. At £200 this would certainly be an investment buy but it SO beautiful. Some other Talitha finds…
Haute Hippie – Was £270 now £121.50 (100% silk)
Joie Silk Blouse (Preloved from Vestiaire Collective) – £79 (but don’t forget you can make an offer)
This red silk Joie blouse is also gorgeous and starting price is £50.33
Moving on to slightly more affordable options…
Another brand to check out is Free People. So many beautiful tops to choose from, prices ranging from £80 – £160 for a top.
Happy Shopping and thanks for reading.
