Designer look for less

I wanted to share a few things that I ordered from ASOS this week. ASOS is a strange site, you really need to know what you are looking for and it can be time consuming to sift through the volume of choice that you are offered if you use a key word search. So hopefully this might save someone time, who might be looking for these pieces that I found. (and love, it’s going to be hard to send any of it back) I also thought that I would style them to give you an idea of how you might be able to wear them, hopefully with existing pieces in your wardrobe.

Starting with this absolute stunner of a skirt, which could pass for a Marchesa or Roksanda number, but for literally a teeny fraction of the cost. I have styled it with my black cashmere tee from Scout Cashmere (coming soon!) and my Alexander Wang heels (which are now on sale and a total bargain. Were £455 now £136.50) I thought this would be perfect for a wedding or christening or party you might have coming up. I am planning to wear it on saturday night to a friend’s birthday party.

I have been on a mission to find myself something yellow to add to my wardrobe and came across this skirt, which is a total b***er to iron, but is so lovely on and I think it looks way more expensive than it’s £35 price tag. I have styled it with my navy silk shirt from Winser London, but it would look so lovely with a white shirt or even a pale blue top in the summer. Dress it up with heels or down with flat sandals and a t-shirt in the summer. Yellow is such a happy colour to wear, but so many are afraid of it. With good reason, of course. Wearing yellow against your complexion can leave you feeling and looking washed out, unless you have a beautiful olive or ebony skin tone. But if you love the colour then wearing it on the bottom half is the perfect solution.

I also ordered these Levi Dungarees. I love the fit on the bum and the leg length is perfect for me at 5’4. I have worn them with an Isabel Marant top and my new Gap espadrilles. (Not online, I bought them in the newly refurbished Gap on Oxford Street) If you are a fan of Isabel Marant, don’t forget to keep an eye on The Outnet, you can get some amazing bargains, like this beautiful top which would be a forever buy. Vestiaire Collective is another place to look for pre-loved Isabel Marant.

And finally, I ordered this lovely top, for when it gets a little warmer. Worn with my new J Brand Selena Cropped jeans, my Davina Mulford cross body and my Isabel Marant espadrilles.
