SS17 Trend #2 : Statment Sleeves
Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered the M&S fluted sleeve jumper that you may have already seen all over instagram. I couldn’t resist. I have to be honest, I was worried about the sleeves getting on my nerves, but I flipped them back when I was buttering my toast this morning and would do the same if I was eating dinner. Problem solved and it doesn’t look bad either!
I am wearing a size small and as you can see from the photos, it is cropped. I quite like that though, to balance out the volume of the sleeves. When I put on my big fur coat, there was no problem with the sleeves inside, but if I was wearing a normal wool coat, I would pull them through.

Statement sleeves were all over the catwalks for SS17 and are already a strong feature of the new season drops on the high street. Trumpet sleeves, fluted sleeves, puff sleeves, frilled sleeves, bow tied sleeves, billowy sleeves, this season, it’s all about the sleeves.

Love the M&S blue blouse, the sleeves look narrower and maybe easier. Good to hear you didn’t have trouble buttering the toast, eating is what puts me a tiny bit off this trend.
Oh I love the M&S jumper but it’s acrylic right? Trying to avoid knits that aren’t merino or cashmere (although the latter less purse friendly so don’t have much of it!) Some lovely choices here. Chloe how did you get on with your search for a plain black crew neck jumper? Did you try the Uniqlo men’s ones?
Yes it is, and for that reason, it went back. I just have to be inclusive as I know not everyone’s budget fits with my natural fibre snobbery! 😋 I have a trip to Uniqlo planned for next week so I will let you know! X
