Anyone else bored to the bone with their winter wardrobe? Every morning, when I go to get dressed I feel a slight sense of ‘argh, not that again!’ and everything I put on feels a bit uninspired, ‘same old’ and well, just a bit ‘meh’. My #ootd posts are even starting to bore me, so I am sure they must be boring you. But buying new winter clothes now seems like a complete waste of time (though it probably isn’t, given that we have at least another 2 months of winter ahead of us! Brrr & Grrr) and my fashion feet are itchy, so I thought I would start focussing on the upcoming trends for SS17 so that we can start planning (& buying) our new season looks now.
The first trend, and obviously the one I am most excited about, is PINK. You know me and pink! From baby, dusky, bubblegum, barbie or a hot shade of cerise, you can choose the pink that works for you, as anything goes when it comes to the colour of the summer.
There are a few things that I have tried on which I think would be great buys. First up is this blouse from Warehouse. I absolutely loved the ruffle sleeve and the pleats in the front. So flattering the way it skims over the tummy. It’s a really beautiful shade of what I call bubblegum pink…

I also tried on these trousers, which are a great fit, but I don’t think I would be daring enough to wear them. However, if you scroll down you will see VB rocking some pink trousers with a crisp white shirt and nude heels. So chic…

Warehouse Wool Crew Jumper – £45 Buy here
Moving on to &Otherstories, if you prefer a more subtle shade of pink and are partial to a frill, then this jumper is amazing. It’s 100% merino wool and as you know, I am big fan of wearing natural fibres when it comes to knitwear, so this ticks all the boxes.

I also saw this beautiful little leather purse today. It took all my willpower not to take it to the till.

I also loved this 100% wool t-shirt which is such a beautiful shade of pink.

Now, I have been a bit naughty and have these beauties below staring at me in their sexy black box as I type. The guilt I feel about this purchase means that I will continue to stare at them (and not wear them) for a few weeks, while I talk myself around in circles about whether they are a sensible purchase. (Of course they aren’t a sensible purchase, who am I kidding, but when did a woman falling in love with shoes ever spell sensible, right?!)
Let me tell you that they are possibly THE most comfortable pair of heels you will put on your feet. This ‘Celine’ style of shoe will be everywhere next season and they are incredibly comfortable. I also believe when it comes to shoes, that you get what you pay for, so if you have the budget and love pink as much as I do, then they are a fantastic buy… The truth is that I don’t have the budget (2 sick cats, zero pet insurance, say no more…) so they will probably have to go back, but not before I have taken a nice shot for my insta feed! 🙂
Topshop Unique – £150 (Buy here)
Pink Coat – £98 – Buy here
If you are a fan of the colourful coat, then this one is gorgeous. It would certainly brighten up a dull winter’s day.
For a summery take on the pink velvet skirt, this would be a great purchase for those who are limb confident. I know that many women aren’t too comfortable with showing their knees, so this little skirt won’t be for everyone. I would pair it with a simple white tee and sandals in the summer months.

A great friend of mine has a pair of trousers in this fabric, that she bought from Topshop Unique (they sold out in minutes) and it is SUCH a beautiful colour.

I feel I need to point out that this jumper is NOT made from natural fibres. (Composition: 79% acrylic,13% polyester,8% polyamide) But oh, how I wish it was. The sleeves and colour are perfection. I can appreciate that not everyone is a knit snob like me, so I have included it in my selection…
Nike – £67 – Buy here
If you are a busy mum on the run, who opts for trainers most days, why not opt for a shocking pink pair ?!
Or if you are after something a little more subtle and have the budget, I cannot recommend Golden Goose enough…
Golden Goose – £310 – Buy here
SJYP STEVE J & YONI P – Sweatshirt – £215 – Buy here
And finally, a little lust item, for good measure…
Gucci Marmont – £465 – Buy here
And if all this pink is making you feel a little twitchy, then you could always stick to your neutrals and opt for a bright pink lippy instead!
Nars -Michiyo – Buy here
And finally, a healthy dose of pink inspo from Pinterest…
Love,
