The Long Overdue Beauty Post…

I have been meaning to write a beauty post for a while, as many of you have very sweetly shown an interest in my beauty regime. Truth be told, I am a bit of a beauty junkie. I get bored with products and am always keen to try something new, often before I reach the end of a tube or pot! BUT, there are a few products that I swear by, and others that I am using and enjoying at the moment.

I should start off by mentioning a couple of my beauty rules that I have for myself.

  1. I NEVER EVER sleep in make-up. No matter how late (or worse for wear!) I always cleanse and moisturise.
  2. I always cleanse twice and use a fresh, clean face cloth every day.

My current regime is as follows :

la roche posay cleanser.jpg
La Roche Posay £12.50

Starting with my cleanser. I absolutely swear by La Roche Posay for sunscreen and so I thought I would try the rest of their range. This is a very gentle, lovely cleanser, at a reasonable price and I really enjoy using it. Once I have massaged in, I remove with a warm face cloth. I use a different face cloth every day, and once finished with, they go straight into the washing machine.

micellar-water
Garnier Micellar Water – £4.99

My second cleanse is with Garnier Micellar Water. I soak a cotton pad then sweep over the entire face

clarins
Clarins Double Serum – £55

My husband bought this for me and I have absolutely no idea whether it ‘works’. I have just finished it, and honestly, I am not sure that I noticed dramatic results (do we ever?!) so at £55 I am not sure I will be repurchasing, unless a reader can persuade me otherwise. How on earth you tell what is working and what’s not when you are using so many products I will never know. I am pretty happy with most products as long as I don’t break out in spots.

After using this serum, I use one of two oils, both of which I adore.

or I use

Kiehls.jpeg
Kiehls Midnight Recovery – £36

I love both of these oils and couldn’t tell you which one I prefer, but I do ALWAYS use a night oil. I put a few drops in the palm of my hand, warm it between both hands, then I pat it in to my face using the palms of my hands.

I finish off with a night cream.  I recently finished my more expensive night cream, Vichy’s Skin Sleep, which I bought after reading somewhere that it made you look like you’d had loads of sleep, even if you hadn’t. I can’t say it did that, but I did like it, and it may have been doing wonderful things, but I felt ready for a change. So I have started using, wait for it… NSpa’s Ever Youthful Bouncy Night Cream which I bought in ASDA for £6! And so far, I am thoroughly impressed. Remember, I am not a beauty expert in ANY way, shape or form and I do think that everyone’s skin is completely different, so recommending products is hard. But for £6 it is worth a try! I love the way it smells and makes my skin feel afterwards…

n-spa
N Spa from ASDA – £6
vichy-night-cream
Vichy Skin Sleep – £26.50

When I feel the need for an exfoliation, I use La Roche Posay Ultra Fine Scrub. Probably 2 to 3 times a week.

la-roche-posay
La Roche Posay – £10

And if I feel the need for a masque, I use Gatineau’s Anti Wrinkle Face Mask.

gatineau
Gatinea – £42

I do have various eye creams, but I don’t use them much as I always seem to get the product in my eye somehow?

In the morning, I moisturise with Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream.

ultra-kiehls
Kiehls – £43.50

Then I use ‘This Works In Transit Camera Close-up’. I absolutely love this product and use it as a primer for my foundation. Lookfantastic have a great deal on at the moment, where you get this product and my other favourite from the range, their Pillow Spray, PLUS the Turbo Balm. It would make a great gift for a friend.

this-works
This Works Set – Was £45 now £36

The last beauty product that I want to tell you about, is one of the few products that I would tell you to rush out and buy because it really is that amazing. Add a couple of drops to your moisturiser in the morning and after a few hours you have developed a healthy glow. Never a faked tanned face, just a healthy glow. It’s a miracle product and one little bottle will last you a long time. For more than just a glow, I use two mornings in a row.

clarins-radiance
Clarins Radiance Booster – £19

So I think that’s it for my facial beauty regime. I will leave hair products and make-up for separate posts as this is probably enough to digest for one post!

If any of these are your favourite products, I would love to hear from you. Or indeed if there are any that you absolutely swear by. And, if I am doing anything in the wrong order, (or completely wrong!) feel free to say. As I said before, I am no expert!

Thanks for reading.

Love,
Chloe x

  1. I was going to try clarins serum – I use liz earle cleanser and temple spa toner, serum and moisturiser (although I am happy with all products I use so should probably stick to them)

  2. If you are looking for a good toner, I heartily recommend Liz Earle’s Instant Boost Skin Tonic. Boots sell it at £14.50 for 200ml bottle. It’s all natural botanical ingredients and smells and feels divine. I have very sensitive skin and this never stings x
