The perfect going out top

Do you ever get those occasions when you feel like wearing something new, but don’t want to spend a fortune on a new top (or simply can’t!) ? Well I have found a great little top that ticks all the boxes and isn’t going to break the bank. I went into Dorothy Perkins the other day to check out the floral dress that  I had spotted The Frugality wearing on Instagram a while back. Unfortunately it didn’t feel very ‘me’ but I did have a little look around and was so impressed with what I found. I must admit it is not a shop I have set foot in for about 20 years, but this is definitely going to change.

As you know, I bought this camel coat, which is so soft and snuggly and a really lovely colour.

I also bought these Raisin Coloured Coated Jeggings, which come in both regular and Petite sizes. They have been so useful and a really nice alternative to black. (And not at all ‘sweaty’ as I have found some coated skinnies can be)

Dorothy Perkins Raisin Coated Jeggings – £26

Raisin Coated Jeggings – £26

Camel Waterfall Coat – £65

And my final purchase was this gorgeous top, which I thought was such a bargain and looked way more expensive than it’s £28 price tag. I loved the velvet, the high neck and the see through sleeves. Elegant, a little bit sexy and very comfy.

Velvet Top – £28

I had spent enough by this point, but I was (& still am!) tempted by this dress. I see there aren’t many sizes left online so I guess I am not on the only one!

Black and Blush Floral Midi Dress – £38
And this blouse…

Ruffle Shirt – £28
So there we have my little Dotty P’s haul. Do you shop in Dorothy Perkins, or is it one of those shops that just isn’t on your radar? Let me know, I’d love to hear what you think of the quality/price points etc if you do!

  1. I’ve been shopping in Dotty’s for years. Always thought it was reasonably priced and I have often found classic gems that I seem to bring out season after season. So glad you did this piece. Thanks for sharing 🙂
