I keep seeing stylish ladies on Instagram wearing cool socks with their trainers or heels and it got me thinking about my slightly sad sock collection. Plenty of singles (why, oh why do I hang on to these? They never turn up…) and the few complete pairs that I own are looking a little tired, not to mention unexciting. I don’t own a single pair that I would want on display. We’re at that time of year when it really is a little too chilly to have bare ankles, but the cropped leg trend poses a little problem. I think the only way forward is to embrace the sock, and if you just can’t get your head around this look, then invest in some really good barely there, trainers socks that don’t slip and roll down your foot while you walk. (And perhaps bottle of instant tan too?)
I had a little look around and here are my findings so far…
If you are happy to embrace the ‘sock on display’, then a pair of glitter socks are a must have. I think they look just as good with trainers as heels. I am not sure I am brave enough to wear mine with heels, but watch this space…
Falke is a fantastic make and you can’t beat a pair of plain black socks to wear with your boots.
More metallic options and this pack has a lovely grey pair.
If like me you still want to hide your socks, then these are an investment as I have been told they don’t slip down…
I love the colours in this pack. I think I am going to start off with this pack.
And here are a few more pairs of statement socks that would look great with trainers.
Sadly, I can’t find any sequin socks. If you have seen some, let me know.
Okay, who else is an ‘Elf’ fan? How cute are these for a Christmas Present?
I raided my daughter’s sock drawer this morning and she had some cool birthday socks from H&M. If you have smaller feet (sizes up to 6) then these are quite cool.
So, here’s to a good clear out of the sock drawer and perhaps injecting some sparkle into your collection.
Happy Sock shopping!
